Our beloved Zubeen Garg has passed away. The artist was given a final farewell with national honour

Once Zubeen Garg said, "I'll give it all, only the funeral pyre will be mine, but you have to burn it." 

Zubeen Garg is the soul of all the people of Assam. An era has come to an end. It is as if the heartbeat of the people of the state has stopped. Now there are only sighs of fans all around. Zubeen Garg's heartwarming song is being played all around.

Today's day was as if the Assamese people have lost everything. Veteran artist Zubeen Garg is gone. From today onwards, it will become a memorable history of Assamese social life. The whole of Assam witnessed this unimaginable and unexpected moment of the departure of the artist. His last rites were performed at Kamarkuchi in Sonapur. The artist was given a final farewell with state honours .

His wife Garima Saikia Garg paid tribute to her husband for the last time and also the father of the artist bid his final goodbye to his beloved son .This tragic sight has brought tears to everyone's eyes. Everyone stood up and paid tribute to Zubeen Garg on this tragic occasion.

Every dignitary paid homage to Zubeen Garg's mortal remains after Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma first laid a wreath. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju was present on this special occasion on behalf of the Prime Minister. Chief Ministers Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kiren Rijiju, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other National and Tribal organisations paid tributes to Zubeen Garg.

Sisters Pami Borthakur and Rahul Gautam Sharma lit the funeral pyre to Zubeen Garg's mortal remains. After the funeral pyre the song 'Mayabini Ratir Bukut' started playing. The artist's voice is screaming in harmony with the rhythm of Mayabini. 

'Pranor Silpi' Zubeen Garg was cremated with red sandalwood. The chanting of mantras, recitation of the Gita, Doba-Xonkho, Vedic sounds and religious rituals were carried out.  Lakhs of fans flocked to Sonapur to see their favourite artist for the last time. Zubeen Garg's favourite songs were sung. Fans were crying at the moment of his departure.

Even after the artist was kept at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex for two days, where lakhs of fans paid their tributes, lakhs of admirers were still seen accompanying him on his final journey to Sonapur today. The only goal of all is to witness the last journey of the beloved artist. Thousands of fans marched from the stadium and chanted, "Joi Zubeen Da, Zubeen Da Amor Haok". 

On September 19, Zubeen Garg died unnatural in the sea of the coast of Singapore. He has lent his voice to more than 38,000 songs in 40 languages, composed music for 44 films, and has enriched the cultural landscape of Assam with more than 40 films and documentaries.
