The Nobel Prize in Chemistry for 2025 has been awarded to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M Yaghi.
"The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M Yaghi 'for the development of metal-organic frameworks'.
Susumu Kitagawa from Kyoto University, Japan (He currently teaches at Kyoto University), Richard Robson from the University of Melbourne, Australia (now he teaches at the University of Melbourne)and Omar M Yaghi from University of California, Berkeley, United States (now teaching at the University of California, Berkeley in the US).
The three chemists will share the 11 million Swedish crowns prize money --- around Rs 10 crore in Indian currency, besides the prestige that the Nobel prize carries.
