Earthquake hits Philippines again
A powerful 7.6 magnitude offshore earthquake struck near the southern Philippines on Friday morning, prompting tsunami alerts and mass evacuations along coastal provinces. The country has witnessed several earthquakes in the past period. Authorities are bracing for aftershocks and possible damage, as the nation still reels from a deadly 6.9 quake in Cebu just weeks ago. The latest quake had a depth of 62 kilometers (38.53 miles), according to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The PHIVOLCS (Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology) agency said, the quake struck 10 kilometers below sea level.
