Assam Police SIT files chargesheet in Zubeen Garg death case

Finally, today the SIT filed the chargesheet in the CJM court in connection with the death of Zubeen Garg. Chargesheet in the investigation of the death of Zubeen Garg in 4 boxes. The SIT has filed a chargesheet in the case No. 18/2025. The chargesheet filed in the court contains around 7,000 pages, including about 3,500 pages of attached documents.

In the chargesheet, Section 103 of BNS has charged against four accused persons - Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprava Mahanta. Section 3(6), 3(7), 3(8), 61(2), 103(1), 316(5) of BNS charges against Siddharth Sharma, 3(6), 3(7), 3(8), 61(2), 103(1), 308(2), 318(4), 238 of BNS charges against Shyamkanu Mahanta, 3(6), 3(7), 3(8), 61(2), 103(1), 316(5) of BNS against Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, 3(6), 3(7), 3(8), 61(2), 103(1), 238 of BNS against Amritprava Mahanta. On the other hand, Section 105 of BNS charges against Sandipan Garg, Section 61(2), 316(5) charges against each Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya.

It is to be noted that 7 people have already been arrested in connection with the death of Zubeen Garg. They are Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Shekhar Goswami, Amritaprabha Mahanta, Nandeshwar Bora, Paresh Baishya and Sandipan Garg. According to the information, the police took the testimony of about 300 people during the investigation of the case No. 18/2025. The investigation into the case number 19/2025 registered by the CID is still ongoing.

Hearthrob Zueen Garg passed away under mysterious circumstances in Singapore on September 19. He died while swimming in the sea, from then the mystery of Zubeen Garg's death began. The SIT had also gone to Singapore to investigate the case. After this, the Chief Minister said in the Assembly that Zubeen Garg was beaten up by one man and helped by 4-5 people. A chargesheet was finally filed in the case today.
